Piers of the Medigadda barrage, part of the Kaleshwaram project, sank in Oct 2023. This led to an inquiry into a hugely costly scheme.
A judicial commission found irregularities, including that work began without cabinet approval or a final project report. The report has been challenged in court, and the High Court ordered it taken out of the public domain.
